17 thousand hours of customer focus group interviews and testing gave us a list of names for this section. In the end we just pulled a title out of fresh air. Every issue of Padder we choose 30 of the best apps from a given category. Apps for children, photography apps, games apps, utility apps, social media apps, lifestyle apps, travel apps, sports apps, and all the others too.

HOW TO
Look, the iPad is easy as pie to use, but we know that some of you have more money than sense so might not know about everything your iPad is capable of. The marketing department seems to think that we shouldnt be insulting readers like this, but hey since when did marketing know anything? The how-to section shows you, um, how to do stuff on your iPad, uncovering its hidden and not so hidden capabilities.

RANT & RAVE
Rant and rave along with our expertly chosen columnists. Here youll get a bit of opinion and inside info from the most interesting and expert people from all over the globe. Our columnists are not only utterly, jaw-dropingly attractive they have brains too. Its a powerful combination..

DESIGN
The iPad screen is perfect for viewing pretty things so the Design section is all about pretty things. Pictures, illustrations, drawings and other amazing looking stuff are all included and no, this is not a cheap excuse for the editor to do less work by filling a page with pictures and stuff.

Were taking a laid back approach, youll not find deep analysis of technical specifications here. Just know that we like what we like and think youll like it too.

We are keeping the download size small, in fact we have a super secret target of no more than 100MB per issue. PLEASE DONT TELL ANYONE that download size is scientifically chosen as the maximum that people will accept without wanting to throttle us. Adverts are a fact of life, get over it.

This does mean that issues arent 100 pages long, but rest assured were working really hard to cram as much content in as we can without bloating Padder out. Just know that what does make it into Padder is ALL KINDS OF AWESOME because its had to fight off all the other AWESOME stuff that COULD have gone in.
